A friendly reminder…

The months of January through March are generally the busiest times for 36th District Court, mostly due to the fact that it is “tax return” season.  Individuals receiving their tax refund frequently come down to the court in the hopes that they can take care of their tickets and get their license back.  Obviously this is a very good idea, but most people that do it fall into the same trap (and one that I’ve warned people about before) of thinking that this is the only way to do so.  Hiring an attorney will usually seem like an extra expense, which is something that people want to avoid when money is limited.  What they don’t realize is that hiring a lawyer can, and should, save you money in the long run, and can get you your license back faster than it would be done waiting in line down at 36th District Court.  Taking care of your tickets is always good, but make sure that you don’t rush in when there is money that can be saved.
